The Dancer – Digital Art Study – 12 june 2020
Here I am, with no experience whatsoever in digital art and my first tablet received. How can I learn as a total beginner? Well, I chose to use a very controversial technique: Tracing.
I thought it might help me understand this new technique & grasp the displayed colored, the proportions… in a realistic way.

Tracing
I know many (as I did before) believe tracing is NOT drawing, not REALLY… But I want to share this art study to encourage beginners to start with tracing.
Indeed, it wouldn’t be interesting for you to just trace and leave it this way…
Take Ownership Of the Picture
“Make it yours” so that you can give life to your drawing, for it not to become a robotic copy of the original and inspiring reference you chose.
Try your best to remember the shapes you trace, the movements, the colors and the way you apply the lights according to the photo.
Also, always remember to tag/mention the artist who took the reference in the first place 😏 (of course, of course…).
Grow
It helped me progress and I can today provide successful art pieces, which in my opinion means: convey the “right” impression. YOUR unique point of view for your study.
Because THAT is the essential for an artist: to show their unique view for the world to see.

Hello there! Thank you so much! Well, I now there are paid otpions but I believe WordPress has everything you need to start your blog (keep it up!). You can always start with free tools and when you can list your precise needs, you can go for another paid solution.
